Social Media
This page will be relevant for you if you are be responsible for creating, scheduling, and publishing social media content on behalf of the OSC.
Create personal profile on BlueSky, Mastodon, LinkedIn to be linked in the OSC profile pages.
If you don’t want this, you can also log in with the OSC account and we only indicate your name in the profile page of this account (for accountability).
For LinkedIn, you do need to have a personal account to then be given access to the OSC LinkedIn organization account.
Community Engagement and Outreach
Social media platforms can also be used to identify potential new OSC members and collaborators.
Useful strategies include:
- Reviewing the follower lists of OSC accounts
- Looking at users who frequently like, repost, or comment on OSC posts
- Identifying researchers who regularly engage with Open Science content
- Following up with researchers who may be interested in joining the OSC or participating in OSC activities
Always keep your eye out for potential posts and reposts that might be of interest to the OSC or works involving OSC members. Send this to the Hiwi to make a draft and then the HiWi sends this draft to Malika for approval.
The HiWi should regularly monitor comments, replies, and direct messages across platforms to ensure timely responses and maintain community engagement.
Social Media Accounts
Ask Malika for access credentials to the following OSC accounts:
