**Welcome!** This workshop is intended to **provide future open research instructors and train-the-trainers** with practical skills for **planning and organizing teaching events** on Open Research topics. Through a mix of theoretical elements and hands-on exercises, we will explore **practical considerations** for planning an Open Research event, and discover how to **effectively design and structure** a teaching event so that learners have time to arrive and orient themselves, **reactivate** prior knowledge, get familiar and **process new content** and **obtain feedback** on their learning progress. In this, we will also learn how to **boost motivation** in your learners and how to provide **constructive feedback**.

- **Aspiring open research instructors**
- **Future open research train-the-trainers** and **educators** in higher education (e.g., universities, colleges) and
- **Self-learners** 

with familiarity about open research challenges, issues and tools and basic didactic skills.

At the end of this session, you will be able to ...

- **Consider** practical and logistical challenges of organizing an Open Research event
- **Structure** an Open Research event according to the five phases of the ARIPE+ scheme [@stadeli2013aviva] to facilitate the learning process
- **Apply** techniques to **enhance** motivation in your learners
- **Understand** key elements of constructive feedback
