**Welcome!** These materials focus on **how to take action and address challenges** within Open Research. Awareness of our own spheres of influence is an important step towards positive change. These materials put into practice the **skills learned about effective leadership** using **case studies** that featuring challenges such as doing a preregistration and navigating large-scale collaborations. Equipped with a diverse set of strategies, Open Research leaders can then more confidently apply them to own research and teaching contexts.

The case study series on leadership in Open Research is co-developed by the LMU Open Science Center and the Framework for Open and Reproducible Research Training ([FORRT](https://forrt.org/)).

with familiarity about open research challenges, issues and tools, as well as a strong familiarity with leadership roles and skills and CRediT roles.

### Learning objectives

At the end of this session, you will be able to ...

- **Examine** approaches to addressing challenges in Open Science from multiple perspectives to increase breadth of knowledge.
- **Discuss** and **propose** actionable and equitable strategies to address challenges in Open Science as a way to relate to own leadership contexts and build up collective problem-solving skills.
