Welcome! This workshop is intended to bring together different open research topics and encourage you or your audience of open research novices to reflect on their own open research journey and the next steps after having acquired and practiced all of these open research skills. This session was designed to sort through previously acquired open research knowledge and skills, and make informed decisions about what is most relevant given the own individual context. The aim is to begin the design process for a personal implementation plan, that is, to think about which open research practices make sense and are relevant given the specific context, to think about who can support with the implementation, which obstacles can be foreseen and how they can be mitigated, how behavior is changed in a sustainable manner, how knowledge can be passed on to others and finally, how to obtain credit for the efforts for more robust and credible research.
Who are these materials for?
- Educators in higher education with or without familiarity with open research planning to teach open research to novices
- Self-learners with no or limited familiarity with open research planning to develop and build up on their open research skills

Learning objectives
At the end of this session, you or your learners will be able to …
- Reflect on their own personal (research) contexts and the relevance of different open research tools and elements
- Reflect on the implementation of at least three open research practices in the future
- Discuss obstacles and their solutions to mitigate challenges in the implementation
- Derive a list for important support people and resources for the implementation process
