Becoming a member
Individual Members
Become a member of the OSC if you want to visibly support the goal of open, responsible, and reproducible research within your disciplines or at LMU Munich more broadly. As a member, you can
- shape our activities (e.g. suggest or lead an event, write research practice guidance, organise a meetup, liaise with stakeholders to inform on the design of incentives and policies)
- network with like-minded researchers across disciplines (from networking lunch to writing meta research proposals together), and
- vote and/or take part in the OSC Scientific Board.
According to its statute, all PhD holders (post docs, lecturers, PDs, and Professors) of LMU Munich as well as researchers from other universities or non-university research institutes contributing to foster the goals of the OSC can become members - free of any charge, of course.
OSC Fellows
Become an OSC Fellow if you are a PhD candidate or a student from LMU Munich wanting to contribute to the OSC’s activities. For instance, you will be recognised with the status of OSC Fellow if you (co-)lead a grassroot initiatives, (co-)organise an event, and/or (co-)deliver a workshop, on your own or with OSC staff or members. The OSC strives to provide OSC Fellows with further leadership and training opportunities.
Institutional Members
Departments, faculties, units, or central institutions of the LMU that provide infrastructure or other services that facilitate the goals of the OSC can become institutional members. Learn more about the benefits of becoming a funding institutional member below and schedule a call with us!
